Poster Presentation Guidelines
Poster Board size for 2007:
3.28 feet (1 meter) wide by 6.56 feet (2 meters) high (PORTRAIT Style).
The Poster boards are fiber board. Velcro stickers will be provided.
Poster sessions will be grouped by topic.
All poster material should be confined to the space provided.
The first author of each poster abstract is
the presenting author and is responsible for the proper
assembly, mounting, and presentation of his/her poster. Presenters
may mount their display on their assigned board at 7:00 AM on Thursday,
September 20 for the first group, and by 7:00 AM on Friday, September
21 for the second group. You will be notified by August 17 of your
poster time and location. Posters must be removed immediately at
the end of each session, no sooner than 5:00 PM on Thursday and
Friday.
Poster Viewing Times are 1:30 PM–2:30 PM on Thursday and
Friday.
Judging for the poster contest will be Thursday.
The Junior Investigator Poster Competition the first author (presenter) must
be attending his/her poster for the judging between 1:30 PM–2:30 PM. We
encourage first authors to attend the poster 10 minutes early to be prepared
for the judges.
Awards will be made on Friday. Photos will be taken
at that time.
The chairperson of each poster session and an assistant will be present
at the session and available to provide assistance and answer any questions.
The Society will provide and post the abstract number. Each poster must contain
the title, authors, and author affiliations.
As viewing may be from a distance of 5', please be sure your posters are
readable from that distance. Illustrative drawings should be used to depict
treatment of animals with use of photographs limited to situations of absolute
necessity.
Should circumstances prevent you from making your poster presentation, please
arrange for a substitute to present the poster or withdraw the abstract/poster
by notifying the SPS Headquarters. If the presenter was originally
a Junior Investigator the substitute may present the poster however the poster
will not be considered for the Junior Investigator Poster Competition.
Presenters are expected to discuss their work with scientists visiting the
poster.
