- Submit your application, passport along with supporting documents to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.
- Start
Early, Additional reviews may be required—this could add
an additional 4–6 weeks to the processing time.

Edinburgh International Airport Flights
Edinburgh is one of the UK's fastest growing airports, offering direct and
connecting flights from many UK, European and International airlines.
The flight from London takes around an hour and there are over 40 flights from
London airports every day. Regular services arrive in Edinburgh from other
major UK cities and there are frequent scheduled flights from 40 European airports,
including Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt and Zurich. There is direct daily servcie
from New York's Newark airport and Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta
International Airport and Edinburgh. Further transatlantic flights arrive at
Glasgow International Airport, one hour's drive away.
Edinburgh International Airport is 8 miles (12km) west of the city centre.

IMPORTANT BAGGAGE NOTE!
Passengers traveling through Edinburgh Airport will only be able to check-in
bags which weigh 32kg (70lbs) or less. BAA is introducing the new safety measure,
which will apply to all airlines and destinations from Edinburgh, to protect
the airport's 300 strong workforce of baggage handling staff.

How to Get to Edinburgh Airport
Road access to the Airport is easy from the two-level junction on the A8 trunk road, midway between the Gogar and Newbridge roundabouts. If approaching from the Edinburgh side join the A8 from the city bypass and proceed toward Ingliston. Just before reaching the Royal Highland Showground, take take the left hand slip road to join the Edinburgh Airport approach road.
From the North and West you should join the A8 at the Newbridge roundabout and proceed toward Edinburgh. Just past the Royal Highland showground follow the directional signs for the Airport. Indeed the Airport directional signs should be followed no matter what direction you approach from. Edinburgh Airport can boast traffic congestion free access at most times.
Bus Travel to Edinburgh
If you're on a budget then buses are a great travel option. And because Edinburgh is well placed on the Scottish motorway network, getting here by bus or coach could be quicker than you might think. There are regular coach services to Edinburgh from all major UK cities.

to Haymarket Station and the city centre terminus at Waverley Station.

Ferry Service to Edinburgh

Zeebrugge Ferry Rosyth, Travel to Edinburgh
It's easy to get to Edinburgh by sea. An overnight Superfast ferry service operates
between Zeebrugge and Rosyth 3 times a week, with a crossing time of 18 hours.
Rosyth is about half an hour's drive from Edinburgh, so getting to the city is plain sailing.
You can also reach Edinburgh easily by road from the continental ferry ports of
Newcastle and Hull and the Irish ferry ports of Stranraer and Cairnryan.

The Edinburgh Shuttle operates a frequent, on-demand mini-coach service
between Edinburgh Airport and the city centre. Departs every 15-30 minutes
